Agentforce Coworker

Agentforce Coworker

Most Salesforce users aren’t going to build AI agents. They just want answers, like “Why is this renewal at risk?”, without opening five tabs. That’s the job of Agentforce Coworker.

Coworker went from beta in June 2026 to general availability at Dreamforce, and Salesforce says more than 185,000 people now use it. Here’s what it does, what it costs and how to roll it out.

What Is Agentforce Coworker?

Agentforce Coworker is Salesforce’s AI assistant for employees. It does three things:

  1. Answers questions using your Salesforce data and other connected sources.
  2. Explains why something is happening, like why a deal stalled.
  3. Gets work done by calling your Agentforce agents, Flows and actions, then bringing the results back for you to approve.

The third point is what makes it different from a smarter search box. Salesforce’s admin team calls Coworker the “front door” to your agents. Users don’t need to know which agent does what. They ask Coworker, and it routes the request.

Coworker is one of the three AIforce interfaces Salesforce announced at Dreamforce 2026, along with Slackforce and Claudeforce.

The easy way to remember it: Coworker is the coordinator, and agents are the specialists. If you have no well-built agents, Coworker can answer questions but can’t do much else.

Why It Might Already Be On

Starting August 10, 2026, Salesforce automatically turned on Coworker for customers with unmetered user-based AI seats. If your org has those licenses, check Setup → Agentforce Coworker. You can turn it off or on there.

Some orgs were not auto-enabled, including HIPAA, health and life sciences, and government orgs. Salesforce notes that Coworker isn’t covered by its HIPAA Business Associate Addendum.

What It Costs

  • Data 360 sources: indexing data in Data 360 uses Flex Credits or Data Services Credits on every plan.
  • Unmetered AI seats: included at no extra cost. Searching CRM data and Slack doesn’t use credits.
  • Standalone license: $50 per user per month, announced November 4, 2026.

Pricing can change and depends on your contract, so confirm with your account executive.

Is It Secure?

Salesforce says Coworker follows each user’s permissions, sharing rules and access controls. Connected external sources keep their own access rules. Admins decide which agents and actions Coworker can use.

But remember: Coworker shows people everything their permissions already allow. If users have more access than they need, Coworker will make that obvious fast. Review sharing settings before you expand access.

Real Results

  • Fulton Bank says it launched more than 20 use cases for about 3,000 users in weeks.
  • The Adecco Group is rolling Coworker out to about 27,000 employees in more than 40 countries.
  • BACA Systems says it set up Coworker in about 20 minutes in an org with 1,300 custom objects.

These are numbers the companies reported themselves.

The Takeaway

Coworker gives users one place to ask questions and get work done. But it’s only as good as the data, permissions and agents behind it. Check if it’s already on, clean up sharing, and build a few focused agents for the tasks your users ask about most.
